Printable Sesame Chuck Steak

Sesame Chuck Steak

8 - 10 SERVINGS

1/2 c. salad oil
1/3 c. sesame seed
4 medium onions
1/2 c. soy sauce
1/4 c. lemon juice
1 TBSP sugar
1/4 tsp cracked black pepper
2 garlic cloves, crushed
2 1/2 lb. beef chuck blade steak, cut 1" thick
watercress sprigs for garnish

1.  In 10" skillet over medium-high heat, in hot salad oil, cook sesame seed until golden, stirring.  Slice onions thickly.

2. In 13x9 baking dish, mix sesame seed-oil mixture and onions.  Add next 5 ingredients.

3.  Trim excess fat from steak; add meat to marinade; turn to coat, cover, chill at least 8 hours, turning occasionally.

NOTE - I chose to cook my steak on a George Foreman grill rather than broiling.

4.  45 minutes before serving: Preheat broiler if manufacturer directs.  Place steak on rack in broiling pan.  Drain onions, set aside, reserve marinade.

5.  Broil steak 25 minutes for rare or as desired, brushing frequently with the marinade.  Turn steak once.

6.  In 10-inch skillet over medium heat, cook onions and remaining marinade until tender, stirring occasionally.

7.  To serve, arrange the steak and sliced onions on a heated large platter.  Garnish with sprigs of watercress.
